QUESTION 2
A) Rewrite the following passage correcting all punctuation errors. [10 Marks]

Madame was waiting for me on the steps. When she saw me,
she stopped.  walking up and down. She kept her eyes on me
as i came up.

Ive been waiting for half an hour, she said, controlling her
impatience. “”Why did you go off like that after midday. I
thought your day finished at midnight. Where have you been?”

“In the sun madame, “I said, putting on a stammer.
“You think youre very clever,” she said with a scornful smile.

“From now on the very first sign of trouble from you and
youre dismissed. You can now go.”
I slipped off to the kitchen. It was time for the washing up.
From the kitchen, I saw Madame put on her topee and go out.
to inspect Baklu’s washing’s hanging in the yard.

A) 
Identify the word class (eg. noun, verb, etc.) of each of the
bolded words as used in the passage. [10 Marks]

On Tuesday, October 21, 2021 the world marked International
Peace Day. The (i)objective is to properly (ii)institute and
entrench the ideals of peace in (iii)global affairs. Without any
doubt, peace is a key (iv)pivot around which every nation’s
development revolves.
It is therefore, important for all of us to use the
(v) commemoration to strengthen peace (vi)across the globe
and within nations by observing and adhering to (vii)non-
violent behaviours. This is one of the surest ways to promote
global solidarity for building a peaceful and (viii)sustainable
world.
In Ghana, speakers at a forum organised by the National Peace
Council to mark the day (ix) underscored the need for
Ghanaians to work towards consolidating the peace the country
was enjoying in order to (x) fast-track its developmental
efforts.

For some people, religion means belief in God or bowing
one’s head for prayer. For others it means meditating, with
eves almost closed. For still others religion means an
argument over the meaning of “revelation”. According to
some it means superstition, or at least ‘traditional views”
“Religion” brings to mind various images for different people.
To a large measure, the possibility, the importance and the
way of studying the religious life of man depend on an
individual’s experience with what he labels religion.
